What fixing a conversion does

Fix a Wrong Conversion repairs misread passages of a Smart Score in place. You box each wrong passage on the source PDF page, tag what is wrong, and then either re-scan the box for an immediate proposed correction you approve or reject, or send the zones for revision to be corrected off-device.

Before you start, you need:

• a piece that has already been converted — the row is greyed out otherwise (Convert this score to a Smart Score first.);
• the source PDF page on this device — the selection box is drawn on the PDF, not on the engraved score;
• a network connection for the re-scan itself.

Mark the wrong passages

1. Open the converted piece, open Toolbox (the wrench), and select Fix a Wrong Conversion. It sits with Convert to Smart Score; only the applicable one of the pair is active.
2. Turn to the page with the error. The banner Box each wrong passage. confirms you are in selection mode.
3. Draw a blue box around the smallest complete passage that contains the error — whole measures work best. One finger draws, moves, and resizes the box. Two fingers always zoom and pan the page and never disturb a box, so zoom in as far as you need before drawing.
4. Under What's wrong here?, tap every tag that applies to the selected box: Wrong note, Wrong rhythm, Missing trill / ornament, Missing 8va / 8vb, Extra marking, Missing marking, Wrong clef / key, Wrong lyric, Missing lyric, Other. Tags combine — a passage can be both a wrong note and an extra marking.
5. Optionally describe the fix in Describe the correction — for example "this note should be D, not E". You can type it or tap Dictate and speak it.
6. Repeat for other wrong passages. Each box keeps its own tags and note.

Re-scan for an immediate correction

1. Select a box and tap Re-scan selected zone. The button is only active for a box on the page you are currently viewing.
2. Wait while Re-scanning the boxed region… runs — usually a few seconds.
3. Review the Proposed correction: the PDF source · crop on the left against the Converted result on the right, with a shared zoom. Zoom in before accepting, and check every staff and voice inside the boxed measures, not only the note that first looked wrong.
4. Tap Approve & print into score to splice the correction into the full score and re-engrave it, or Reject to discard the proposal. After approving, the app reports how many measures changed; tap Done and verify the measures immediately before and after the corrected passage.

If the re-scan answers The engine could not read anything in this region., redraw a cleaner selection — complete measures, no cut-off staves — and try again.

Send for revision instead

If the re-scan is slow or its proposal is clearly wrong, tap Send for revisions (or Send N zones for revision when several boxes exist). This submits every box with its tags and notes for correction off-device; the button changes to Sent for revision. Your score is not changed immediately — sending is a request, not an instant fix.

Send for revisions stays available at every stage, including from the review screen after a re-scan you don't want to approve.

When the app refuses to apply a correction

Limit A correction is only applied when its placement in the score is unambiguous. If the app answers Auto-placement not possible, it has refused to guess rather than risk changing the wrong measures. Box one measure at a time.

After correcting

Beta Fixing one region does not validate the rest of the conversion. Repeat the review for other suspect passages, and recheck anything derived from the score — Analysis, Auto-fingering, and Follow calibration — after the passage changes.
